Bharatya Vidtya Bhavan Presents an unique evening of Indian music by two distinguished singers Nashid Kamal and Marina Alam
Nashid Kamal hails from a family deeply rooted to the tradition of culture and music. She is a prolific singer and known for folk, semi-classical and Nazrul songs with few albums to her credit . She is grand daughter of legendary singer Abbas Uddin and a disciple of Pandit Jasraj.
Husky voiced classical singer Marina Ahmad Alam, a disciple of Pandit Jasraj of the Mewati Gharana and regularly accompanies Panditji worldwide. Marina has a wide repertoire and performs thumris, ghazals, and bhajans. She has recently been experimenting with jazz fusion which uniquely combines the depth of the Indian classicalstyle with the free-flowing motion of jazz. She resides and teaches in New York.
