The
BBPA would like to invite you to attend Rain An evening of music
and Dance at the Curtain Theatre, Toynbee Hall on Sunday 3 October
1999 at 6 pm.
The programme demonstrates the latest work of leading British-Bangladeshi
choreographer Mukid Choudhury, and has been produced in association
with the Waves Dance Company.
The Waves Dance Company, based in Islington was founded in 1994
with the aim of promoting the cultural diversity of Bangladeshi
society. The company strives to find a way for youths of Bangladeshi
origin to overcome the cultural identity
crisis faced by them in Britain. It also intends to inform Western
audiences of the Bangladeshi cultural heritage through dance and
music.
This multinational company consists of professional and semi-professional
artists trained in classical Indian and Bangladeshi as well as
Western and African contemporary dance and music traditions.
Tickets for the event are 3 pounds for BBPA members and 5 pounds
for non-BBPA members and can be bought in advance or on the door
