Synopsis
The financial world is in a constant state of change. The e-commerce
revolution has impacted on all areas with more organisations now
offer banking services and the distinction between the services
offered becoming more blurred. Meanwhile, London has consolidated
its position as Europe's leading financial centre. Career opportunities
in the City reflect these developments.
There is a wide diversity of career opportunities in the City
and by necessity we will not be able to cover all areas. In this
workshop we will concentrate on providing guidance using the personal
experiences of the facilitators in their respective areas of expertise.
It will also seek to give a broad insight to the world of banking
and finance and the behind-the-scenes activities. Finally, it
will provide a description of the types of activities undertaken
by financial institutions and it will provide details of training,
courses and qualifications.
