East London Food Access
Require a full-time Development Worker
ELFA is a network of co-ops, projects and agencies involved in facilitating access to healthy food and fresh fruit and vegetables. We are funded to work in Hackney and convene network meetings across East London. Working to an experienced voluntary Board of Directors, you will be our sole full-time employee. Training and support is provided. Experience of working in the voluntary/ food sectors would be an advantage.
Aims and Objectives of the post:
To improve the health and well-being of people in East London through improved access to healthy, affordable food
To develop and maintain existing Food Access Co-ops in Hackney, including practical assistance where necessary
To assist the development of a social enterprise designed to facilitate joint purchasing and delivery service
To research funding opportunities to progress food access development within Hackney and make applications where appropriate
To provide support, administrative services and information for ELFA members
To help develop borough Food Strategies
To develop a strategy to engage volunteers and manage where necessary
Work Place:
The Print House, 18 Ashwin Street, Dalston E8 3DL
You will be required work at this location and will be expected to travel around Hackney and, occasionally, adjacent boroughs.
Remuneration: NJC P01 Scale Point 33 #27, 633 (including ILW)
Hours: 35 hours per week Funded until March 2006
