  • After a long desire the Shahjalal University of Science & Technology was initiated in 1987. It started its career on 14th February 1991 with three departments : Physics, Chemistry and Economics

  • We are a research organisation based in London dedicated to studying folk literature from the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. Sylheti Translation And Research aims to collect and preserve for future generations the folk literature of Sylhet and make it as widely available as possible to the people of Sylhet and their friends.

  • The Sylhet Partnership was initiated by European Union Asia Urbs Programme funding in 2001. The project was funded for two years (2001-2002) and is based in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The partners in this project were the London Borough of Tower Hamlets (UK), The Municipality of Horsens (Denmark) and Sylhet Municipality (Bangladesh).

  • Sylhet town is accessible by road, rail and air transport, and is located in the north-eastern part of Bangladesh. The district is dotted with hills, hillocks, tea-estates and orange groves and sanctified by the holy shrines of Hazrat Shah Jalal and Hazrat Shah Paran

  • Nestled in the picturesque Surma Valley amidst scenic tea plantations and lush green tropical forests, Sylhet is a prime attraction for all tourists visiting Bangladesh. Lying between the Khasia and the Jaintia hills on the north, and the Tripura hills on the south, Sylhet breaks the monotony of the flatness of this land by a multitude of terraced tea gardens, rolling countryside and the exotic flora and fauna
